What does he smoke it for? Pain, anxiety, just the high?

I tried pot once and it was not for me, but I know folks who use it, and they have different reasons.

Also, is it legal where you are? That tends to ensure that he's getting more consistent pot (which would mean better being able to be sure of what effect he's seeking/getting).
