anyone curious about Ramadan? I'm not really religious myself, but then I've observed and experienced many interesting things while living in Anatolia - the land of blended religions, empires, and civilizations.
It's too much to talk about and so fascinating! it's like you've found someone who has been through so much, and the more you learn, the more amazed you are.
and why Islamophobia is everywhere in the West now? yet most of what I have seen or experienced is about peace and beauty...
In my experience Islamaphobes have extremely little experience knowing Muslims. The dang greeting translates to Peace be unto you! How's that for a starting place?!

The dang greeting translates to Peace be unto you!
yes - salam alaykum, then you reply with alaykum salam. ( peace be upon you )
also it's not just about fasting but about sharing and connecting too, and one of the interesting things about fasting: people usually break the fast with dates:
Dates are easily digested, making them a quick source of energy and nutrients. Eating dates after a long day of fasting can help the body’s blood glucose levels quickly return to normal

and one of the things I like during this time is the special Ramadan food! Especially Güllaç in Turkey; it's made with milk, rose water, and pomegranate, and it's so GOOD that you want to eat it every day, but it's usually only sold during Ramadan, but ofc you can make it at home.

I'm always interested in anything going on in other cultures/countries (my basic knowledge of Ramadan is just that people fast during the day during the month).
As far as Islamaphobia, I think it's from a mix of people generally forming and perpetuating opinions of groups based on the worst actions by any members of them, and the vested interest folks in power have in having folks focus hatred on an outsider group (instead of on the folks in power).

I don’t believe Islam and the West are compatible. Maybe we can coexist peacefully but I am skeptical

Islam has been anti west since inception. From the Crusades to the fall of Constantinople to 9-11-2001 and October 7, 2023.

Bro I grew up in a Christian church that is anti everyone else - claiming we alone are going to heaven and all others are condemned to hell. If they can't be converted they are to be shunned.
What's different?
I will not play the name the massacre, name the Holocaust game with you. I'll assume you actually know better, but try to make some point anyhow.
reply
The difference is some people ignore the commandment , thou shalt not kill.
Did your church put a contract on anyone who criticized your religion?
Beirut used to be the Paris of the Middle East but no longer because of the influence of Islam. Who is the last university president to be assassinated?
I don’t mind playing the massacre game. Name your massacre. Maybe we should to gain more clarity
