They eat them to stay high so they don't crash land when pulling Santa's sleigh.

How do you think Santa’s Reindeer stay up? The fact reindeer eat Fly Agaric and aren’t affected yet the tribal shaman would take a pinch and go into a day long trip to the spirit world gave rise to the idea
