Latin America is a catchall term for countries that speak any of the Romance languages. Brazil and Haiti are usually included.
Also, the Caribbean Islands are all part of North America. Central America is sort of make believe, from a continental perspective.

Regarding emancipation from slavery, maybe that was a mistake. Haiti 🇭🇹 has always been corrupt and poor and violent. Too much African savagery in their DNA 🧬.
Absolutely cannot accept folks from Haiti 🇭🇹.
Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 have already deported Haitians and will continue to do so
