Tax law changes, surveillance using AI incoming, draconian work permit crackdowns, plans for wide censorship, mindlessly following the WEF and WHO schemes, 600% increase in visa fees and a ton of unknowns even for a place that has always been wild & unpredictable…
So I’ll probably bail for 180+ days this year, which also gives me a fair chance of rebooting into some unpredictable new career that certain will be within Bitcoin :-)
Anyone got an idea of how little an old photographer can scrape by for say 90 days in El Salvador? I’m totally happy living even under any pleb level as long as I get more freedom & opportunity!
Also if doing it all on a tight budget I would be able to do some good documentary work for sure :-)
Hi there
I think the biggest cost factor will be the accomodation. If you manange to get a good price you can live under 2 M sats ($1500) a month probably even cheaper. Of course to reach that goal you also have to cook your own food because this is probably the next factor to consider.

Yes that seems to be the major obstacle… 1500 a month a bit more than I would be ok with in total, unless I land a regular, online job or recurring customers of course.
For a host of diverse reason that is not feasible from here, so I’m going for and extended period somewhere dirt cheap to reboot everything :-)
Kathmandu will probably be a stop over on the way, but El Salvador would be perfect after that!
