PRAYER OF THE DAY - John 16:24

God of love and hope,

In this new day that begins, we come to you with open and trusting hearts. May your light illuminate our thoughts and guide our steps in every decision we make.

Inspire us with the wisdom of your scriptures, especially Jesus' words in John 16:24: "Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, so that your joy may be full."

May this day be marked by faith and hope. May we be bold in our petitions, always seeking your will and your Kingdom.

Grant us the grace to:

Have unshakable faith in your power and love.

Present our needs with confidence and hope.

Give thanks for all the blessings we have already received.

Persevere in prayer, even when things are difficult.

May our faith motivate us to seek your face at every moment, so that your joy may be complete within us.

In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

In this verse, Jesus invites us to ask in his name. He assures us that if we do this, we will receive what we ask for, so that our joy will be complete.

This promise reveals to us God’s great love for us. He wants us to be happy and complete, and so he invites us to present our needs with confidence and hope.

When we ask in Jesus' name, we are recognizing his authority and power. We are also placing ourselves in submission to his will, trusting that he knows what is best for us.

Prayer is a direct channel of communication with God. It is a moment of communion and intimacy, where we can express our feelings, needs and desires.
