I don't want to just go out and say, “I didn't about money” because that's not true of anyone—money leads to a roof, food, and clothing, and not caring about it at all is too much clown 🤡 even for me.
However.
When I reflect back on my pre-Bitcoin career, I notice a distinct lack of... giving a shit. When I was younger I already had a good understanding of the rat race, and I thought it was strange how money, as a concept, seemed to dominate everyone's actions without their really understanding what it was. Consequentially, and since I wasn't and still am not a “consumer,” my motivation for earning FedCoin didn't extend that far beyond my immediate needs.
Thinking about that, it occurs to me the issue was simply that I didn't see a link between FedCoin and energy. Rather, FedCoin is a thing given to you, granting you the authority (through their authority) to claim X number of tokens. Whatever energy exists in the exchange, is actually contained by the central authority and merely “loaned” out to you.
Now the situation is rather different. Sats are monetary vehicles of energy, so I value them in the same way I value the hydroelectric dam. If you know what I mean—
Thoughts on the subject? Similar experiences?
I think that getting balls deep into Bitcoin pretty much inverses all the advice you typically encounter in traditional financial planning.
Renting often becomes superior to buying because of the opportunity cost of the house deposit. Accumulating debt becomes advantageous when denominated in an infinitely weaker currency. Caring about rates and yields ceases to have meaning when your asset intrinsically cannot be debased.

From my early childhood, I had always been fortunate to learn basics of money due to my father being a businessman. However, when was growing up, my father had lost almost all the wealth due to his incompetence with the changing economic landscapes. Owing to this, he could never be rich again. When I started working, I always remained in search of something that would sustain all weathers. Before bitcoin, I tried various other investments but all seemed to have some type of shortcomings. I invested in stocks, but they are too centralized. With Gold and real estate, I thought they could face all weathers. Yes, they technically went past bad weathers, but they were slow on their average returns. For so much time I believed that these were the only options I had. Then came Bitcoin and it astoundingly changed the way I used to think about money. Befor Bitcoin, I always wanted a security on my investments either from regulators or from private sector. But now I have the security of my money in my hands. Thanks Bitcoin, I never wanted to rely on crooks.

Some years ago a friend of mine, hard core lottery guy, asked me why I never play lottery. My answer was this:
Then after other years, the friend came back to me (he never won a lottery) saying "how's going with your bitcoin?"...
My answer was the same: I always win. But I do not win more money. I have the same BTC. I win freedom and sovereignty. And that is the ultimate power for an individual.

Learning about Bitcoin, I hit a moment that felt like scales fell from my eyes allowing me to see the truth much more clearly than ever before. It gave me the language and the tools to articulate that uneasy feeling that something was wrong. That society was built on a house of cards fiat. I now understand that our work. Our sweat, toil, and blood, gets robbed from us by the Cantillionaires. We are born into debt slavery that is almost impossible to escape. Almost.

Even before I met with bitcoin I always saved some portion of my income. After bitcoin It strengthened the saving ability of mine. In cases such as increasing purchasing power was a really good decision to not save anymore in fiat. However, after years of stacking I wasn't satisfied just to see the numbers to grow. Don't get me wrong, it is beautiful to see how your stacking is growing especially when you compare it in fiat terms. Although I had to learn that I need to control the money and not the other way around. Bitcoin made my greed even greater than it was before. That made me kind of a slave for a while. But it was my fault to let present enjoyment to sacrifice for future benefits. Therefore, currently I am doing the things similarly however something has changed. I do not take this matrix extremely serious anymore. I also save less percentage of my income. I used the other half to satisfy needs and help people who I love. I help my friends and family financially and it gives much more happiness than just save every sats for my self. That made me very sick mentally for a while.

My Bitcoin journey actually started with the question... What is money?
I was doing okay in life. I had a good job and made extra repayments on my home loan. I even started a few side hustles for a little extra income, not much, but enough to know it was possible.
Then one day I was reflecting on how hard I'd been working for so many years and still didn't really have any savings. Sure, I had some equity in my house but something seemed off.
That's when I started down the rabbit hole. What exactly was this thing we call money, spending most of our lives chasing? Why did it always feel like we can't get ahead? Always seemingly on the edge of having some savings only to have it taken away through circumstances.
I consumed everything on the topic. Listening to anyone and everyone without bias. Eventually after listening enough I started to see through scams and lies and separate truth from fabrication.
At some point something flipped in my mindset. I started to see changes the way I viewed money, made purchasing and investing decisions. At first slowly, then more quickly my networth grew.
Now I observe. Seeing the world through a different lens. Watching others make the same mistakes, paying attention to those who've figured it out and trying to understand why people do what they do rather than ridicule.
Humility is the key. Knowing that you probably don't know. That your view of the world is a result of your upbringing and most of those people didn't understand either through no fault of their own.

I was fortunate to have grown up in a financially literate family.
For us money was always a pressure to get rid of it. FAST, decide to buy some stocks with it NOW! Despite being fortunate to be in this situation, there is and was always pressure. It's stressful. Especially back in the day - before etfs existed or were widely known - it took several days to execute a trade.
Bitcoin is calmness. It's like a mountain lake in the morning. 1 Bitcoin always stays 1/21 million. If you want to invest/speculate, there is no reason to stress about it to do it asap. Just relax, you have time to think about it or don't do it at all.

Although I've always had this intuition that its all fake Bitcoin was the real watershed. I remember stacking old silver coins that were worth way more than their denomination, getting the tip from old drunkards that this was the case, they used to pay the grocery shop I worked at when I was 18 with those when they were real desperate, so I kept those to myself ;-)
Then around a decade later I ended up having to do the same for food at Christmas... Took me 2020 to start recalling that memory!
YOLOing quite hard into Bitcoin in 2020 was not too hard, by then I knew it was the solution, but that was not the watershed moment.
For me the first time ever I earned real money was when I got a zap on Nostr for sharing a fake video of a guy riding an ostrich in traffic in Kazakhstan!!
Yeah, I'm more than half a century old, and that was the first actual payment I got in completely incorruptible, real money hahaha
What a weird & wonderful world, I won't even contemplate how it would have been without Bitcoin, mental self harm is not a good thing ;-)
