Google is one of the most valuable companies in the world. I imagine developers collaborating on a search engine to compete with Google and take away much of their adsense (and nonsense). No tracking. No censorship.

If u are talking about bitcoin-only, opensource n privacy, sounds great, let's do it, I love small and medium sized sovereign creators, of course, looks like SN is the perfect playground for our little rebellion

There are so many search engines that have tried to disrupt Google's network effect, and failed.
Taking on the search market is going to be tough, even though Google has been doing their best to destroy the quality of their cash cow.
I am amazed at how the brand is just so strong even though switching costs for the customer is zero and I guess its index is still the most comprehensive.
Also how would you monetise without ads? Growing your index and relaying queries cost money and asking users to pay to search, well good luck selling that one
