This guy, Ashton Gleckman, created this MIDI suite by ear of the Oppenheimer soundtrack. I thought he did an amazing job.
This video below is great too, the track "Can You Hear The Music" is my favorite from the film, it has these crazy tempo changes and starts small but becomes this epic force of music. This behind the scenes is pretty interesting, I like seeing all the little details that went into production of a track. Like rigging up ear pieces for the string players to hear the tempo changes in their ear as the song gets faster.
If you've played an instrument before, you probably know that feeling of playing a piece of music over and over again, getting faster and faster and eventually "mastering" that song. This is the emotion Ludwig was trying to convey in "Can You Hear The Music" as Oppenheimer begins to master Quantum Mechanics early in Nolan's film.
Damn. Awesome job. And done by ear? That's mad talent.
