Inspired by yesterdays post about combating strong negative emotions I decided to write today about things I can do to keep my emotional tank full, my energy high so to speak which is key to avoiding the negativity.
  1. Drink lots of water
  2. Get lots of sun
  3. Read books: I am often inspired to solves life's problems after reading
  4. Write: Journaling or posting on stacker.news helps me organize my thoughts
  5. Meditate: Sitting and doing nothing for 15-20 minutes always helps calm my anxious mind
  6. List things I'm thankful for: Gratitude is an important quality i want to have and instill in my kids
  7. Pray: Praying to God about things I'm thankful for and asking for forgiveness for my mistakes helps me have a positive start to the day
  8. Play Soccer: Exercising and seeing friends is always good for my mood
  9. Stretch(Yoga): If i skip this for a few days my back starts hurting which can lead to a negative mood
  10. Learn about Bitcoin: (I am in chaincodes FOSS program and feel very accomplished/productive when completed the assignments for the given week)
  11. Lift weights: I recently started using an app called stronglifts(https://stronglifts.com/) and it never fails, every time I don't want to go lift and I suck it up and go, I always feel much better afterwards 12: Breathing Exercises: Breath with sandy has some good breathing videos that help calm and energize me. https://www.youtube.com/@BreatheWithSandy
  12. Keeping in touch with friends and family.
I should also include things not to do here like, drinking alcohol, watching porn, scrolling social media, spending too much time inside looking at a screen.
What are some other life giving activities I'm missing. And what are some obvious and not so obvious bad habits to avoid?
