Came across this today, and while I think it's something we're all aware of, it's some great data. The tl;dr is that the actual cost of living is rising way faster than the "official" cost of living, and this tracks things geographically and dives into a lot of common middle-class expense (Starbucks, parking meters, pet food) as well as the standard food stuff that CPI tracks.
