It’s a great choice, zypper and YaST are great tools that save a lot of headaches. If you feel adventurous, you might wanna try Opensuse Aeon or Kappa, both based on the immutable and atomic Micro OS.

I've been scared away from Linux on personal computers given some ancient experiences I had with Ubuntu, but I went searching for mini PCs/Laptops this morning and will probably give it a try along with migrating my lightning node to it.
