One can, but "truth" is a funny something: I can tell the truth today, change my opinion from the ground-up a month later, and tell a whole other story, which would be nothing short of the truth, either.
Let's meet in the middle and exchange "truth" for "opinion".

What I'm trying to point out is, that "telling the truth", "being real" and "stating your opinion" more often than not is something flexible- who hasn't changed his views from time to time?
