Need the wallet descriptor file
After death, your heirs will the minimum number of keys AND either a working instance of the multisig wallet or the wallet descriptor file. Else they need ALL keys.
So 2-of-3 is actually 3-of-4
Because the executor or heirs will need:
- (1) working instance of the wallet + (2) key + (3) key,
- (1) wallet descriptor file + (2) key + (3) key, or
- (1) key + (2) key + (3) key
And 1-of-2 is the actual 2-of-3
Because the executor or heirs will need:
- (1) working instance of the wallet + (2) key
- (1) wallet descriptor file + (2) key, or
- (1) key + (2) key
