Hello stackers! We now have a little rascal since couple weeks back - and so my question is - what resources do you recommend for a new dad and for a newborn child? What helped you the most, what have you watched, read or done that was great? Anything that would help?

first thing, focus on your wife women have it worst than us, and they have to feed those gremlins, our job is to accomodate and help the most, the kid will slowly show interest on you and after 2 yrs the bond is much more strong, enjoy every day.. you will miss it one day.. and work on your patience..

Dad of 4 here:
If your wife breast feeds, I highly recommend cosleeping the first 3-6 months out of pure convenience. Many doctors freak out about cosleeping and many betas whine about it as tho the kid will be in your bed forever, but as newborns need to wake up and feed every hour or two, with luck your wife will be able to breast feed in her sleep before too long. If the baby is a screamer, ear plugs will take care of that pretty nicely.
Also, hold and rock that baby every chance you get while it's still tiny and sleeps all the time. The time goes by so quick and they'll start to sleep less and get big fast, so cherish this precious early stage!!
It's tough to give great advice because every dad is different and every baby is different, but for me cosleeping was the way I could get enough sleep to function and it really goes by quick. Congrats and enjoy the little one!

Great info, thank you! Unfortunately I can't cosleep because I'm a dangerous sleeper, but we figured out a sleeping setup that works quite well.

Get that kid sleeping! I was shocked by how much babies sleep. Babies sleep better and more when you let them sleep enough.

It’s very tempting to indulge in revenge procrastination since you feel you give up everything to keep your baby happy and healthy. But skimping on sleep will make you feel cranky the next day. So sleep while you can and wake up earlier than usual just to enjoy a few rare moments of peace before your child screams the whole household down haha
Congratulations 🥳
