You remind me of one episode of Black Mirror where people would do anything for "likes". I would say, my motivation is to contribute and learn from others rather than to check whether I have a hat or not. To be honest I don't even notice it anymore. Stop paying attention to a silly hat and produce good content instead. YMMV of course.
