Ah yes! I enjoyed your post at the time. In fact that's what planted the mining bug in my brain. I hesitated because I shared your fear about the outdated software going with the more noob option, but I don't think I'm as technically proficient as you.
Thank you! The BitAxe Ultra is definitely more noob friendly, especially if you get the prebuilt model. It’s plug and play, very simple. And it’s also a much lower cost so it’s easier to justify as an experiment. I got mine at d-central
