I'm sure you probably have... But have you heard of Otyken? They use tradition Mongolian techniques and instruments in their songs and it's incredible.
Here's them working with Ummet Ozcan (who recently had his song Xanadu used in Britain's National Rail adverts, so congratulations to him).
Let me know what you think.

Oh, well if you like this stuff... Well ... Do I have a treat for you.
Here's two one from each band.
First up Heilung, they make all of their own instruments using traditional methods and use ancient techniques.
And wardruna again similar vein to Heilung but following the artists own view of how these things could have sounded.
Hope you enjoy. I really love hearing some of these techniques they're just so interesting.

Heilung: ummm... lol .. Not musical enough for my tastes. I checked em out though and Anoana is nice
Wardruna: I like it better, more of a family friendly show :D Saved

Definitely takes some getting used to. Maria Franz is really really incredible with her vocal ability. But I do see it's not for everyone and there's lots of obstacles and boundaries to their particular style.
