You know dark matter, the mysterious stuff that most physicists now believe makes up the bulk of the universe — even though it remains completely undetectable, except for its gravitational effects on regular matter?

Unfortunately, topics like physics and dark matter are less and less usual for regular people...

It's hard for me to agree or disagree because I am pretty far removed from popular culture, but I do recall ten or more years ago that science popularization was itself kind of popular. People like Michio Kaku would get invited onto tv to talk about this or that. Of course half the stuff they would say was utter nonsense meant to drive engagement.
