What about a collaborative edit post type on sn, where every user can suggest a change ,fix , addition for the post and the post admins can approve or not approve this changes
Interesting idea but TBH seems like a very niche feature that very few would use. Would be hard to justify development time over so many other features IMO.

Great proposal!
@grayruby and I have an interest in being able to coauthor longer form posts. Does that fit into what you're thinking about?
reply
Yes the same idea You can see it in two way:
  • a collaborative doc or list (many people)
  • a collaborative long form posts (post admins)

We have much interest and little execution so far. Just letting it marinate until the masses are ready for us.

Great minds often have to wait for society to catch up.

Or we could just turn all post types into google doc-like forms. @jason is working on together from which does this.

Yes! Maybe even two tiers, a very basic 'add a suggestion' or the option to unlock advanced collaboration features. It's an exciting idea.

interesting. make it like a wiki-style stack overflow type post? only top comments are editable by others. Also, the ability to mark a post as a “question” and then the OP can mark it as the answer would be interesting. But, maybe that’s making stacker news too complicated?
reply
No, i mean something like a collaborative docs ,lists ,directories and things like that
