Good morning stackers!
Welcome on into the ~Music corner of the saloon!
A place where we Talk Music. Share Tracks. Zap Sats.
So stay a while and listen.
this territory is moderated
I kinda had to after talking about Mr Big yesterday with 02 πŸ˜‰.
Hope you enjoy.

Great to see Mr Big still making great tracks. I saw them in Manchester on the Lean Into It Tour, brilliant gig, small venue which made it even better.
My fave from that album.

Tickets Β£8.50 πŸ˜‚

reply
8.50 wouldn't even cover the train fair these days... hell 8.50 wouldn't even cover a pint in some of these venues these days.

Love that we're sharing, inspiring and influencing one another :-)
reply
absolutely, thats the whole purpose of this territory in my mind. to share something we enjoy with other people. sometimes we get gifts from other cultures and thats truly amazing. what this space intends to do is provide a platform more music fans to talk about music in whatever way they wish to, and for musicians to share their own works with everyone. so yes, absolutely inspiration is top of the priority list :)

they have a almost beastie boys adjacent sound, same theme as limp bizkit or rage against the machine. its got a really catchy riff in it, thatll probably stay in my head for the rest of the day. great track, id not heard of them before but i'll definitely be giving more of their stuff some attention.

that music video messed with my eyes man🀣 its like that 60s/70 psychedelic style.
but musically, yeah, that's just some cracking country, that's one of those tracks you just roll your window down and enjoy the drive with. got a cool rock style guitar solo. and all the vocalists are killing it, think i counted 3 different ones? unless Rucker is just changing his voice for effect in places.
i really enjoyed this one 035, wait have we got more than one 03? uh oh, i'm going to find myself really confused really fast. great submission πŸ‘Š

Bowes & Morley - You're Drifting Away

Here's a song to brighten up your Sunday and enjoy the beautiful tones of Danny Bowes.

i always really enjoyed his segments on planet rock, hes just great to listen to. you wouldn't really be able to tell hes the Thunder singer until he comes out of his lower range and more into his mid-higher ranges. really great vocalist.

Counting Crows ft Vanessa Carlton - Big Yellow Taxi

An awesome cover version of Joni Mitchell's classic.
reply
I really like this version. I think his vocals and Vanessa's backing complement each others really nicely.
Originally done by Joni Mitchell a singer of the great white north ( πŸ˜‰@grayruby) in 1970.
Straight out the start gate with a head of steam this morning 03. Great track.

Really like this version of Big Yellow Taxi! I don't have any for today so I'll piggy back of yours and use for inspiration hehe. I reminds me of the Amy Grant version that I also love:
Here's a little write up about the lyrics: https://jonimitchell.com/music/song.cfm?id=13

Hopefully a free foss alternative to spotify will be viable soon, and allow to easily transfer playlists. But for now, Spotify Discover Weekly is my best way to discover new music. It's an algorithm generated playlist based on artists I follow and tracks I've favorited / added to custom playlists recently.
Here's the latest I found from it: Submotion Orchestra https://www.youtube.com/@Motivation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzNQDu1HsAs

Amy Grant - Trees We'll Never See
This is the main video on Amy Grant's youtube channel. I think it's perfect for a Soulful Sunday of chilling. I got quite a lump in my throat reflecting on the lyrics.
Have great Sunday everyone!

its a gorgeous track. made me reflect upon certain privileges that ive been fortunate to have. such as being able to travel and see a lot of different places. including different animals which are now extinct. it brings a lump to my throat to know that in not that long, the only thing we'll be able to point to to our kids about rhinos as an example, is a picture in an old book.
