It's All Star weekend in the NBA.

Yesterday featured the Celebrity game and Rising Stars game. Tonight will feature the Slam Dunk Contest and 3 point contest and Sunday will feature the game.

The product just isn't what it used to be. The dunk contest was awesome about 15 years ago when stars participated, and players just don't even attempt to play defense anymore in the all star game. Wish they would do something similar to baseball and put home court advantage for the finals on the line.

Baseball hasn't done that for awhile now. Now they offer some monetary bonus for victory.

Aren't you excited about the 6 guys that are going to do the exact same dunk jumping over a dude tonight?

Didn't someone jump over a car one year? If I am going to see a sideshow, that's what I want to see, something unbelievable.

That was Blake Griffin, I believe. I don't really care if they jump over a guy, as long as they do it in a new way.

The idea was cool. The execution wasn't that great as he just jumped over the hood, which I am sure most NBA dunkers can do, but it was great showmanship.

I posted something inaccurate so I deleted it but got distracted by my little one before I could repost. I thought you were correct that Zach Lavine jumped over a car but I couldn't find that, only that he had been promoting a dunk some other guy did where he jumped over a car.

I used really like the slam dunk contest but it has gotten kind of boring, although last year was good so hopefully this year will be good too.

3 point contest is my jam though.
