It's military aid, not financial aid. USA don't send Ukraine dollars they could freely spend as they wish.

Dollars provided by the legislation would purchase U.S.-made defense equipment, including munitions and air defense systems that authorities say are desperately needed as Russia batters the country. It also includes $8 billion for the government in Kyiv and other assistance.

Yes, Americans send aid to Ukraine, but that actually boosts their own economy. Everything Ukraine buys with dollars given will likely be from American companies.

After second Iraq war, only one Latvian company got tender for rebuilding Iraq. It was MikroTik. Why? Because it's 50% owned by American citizen.

I hate military industrial complex

That's ok, but doesn't mean you should not support weak good guys against bullying from the bad guys. USA has done a lot of bad things, but Russia is worse. Besides, according to Budapest memorandum, it's duty for USA to support Ukraine, as they were one of countries guarateering territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Budapest memorandum is not a treaty or military alliance or a security guarantee like NATO

What happens without military aid?

reply

It makes situation worse for Ukraine (and rest of Europe), of course.
