Mine was dreadfully simple. Downloaded Damus and played Cowdle (guess a six-letter word within six tries) compulsively. However, Apple subsequently issued a death sentence on Damus - no zapping allowed. This might have prompted the founder of Cowdle to wrap up his operations?
Since the fate of Damus was up in the air, I deleted it because I didn’t quite like how it was spammed by Chinese bots shilling about basically nothing of value.
That about sums up my venture into Nostr.
Yesterday, I had some spare time and was looking through Apollo to see what reviews of BTC products I could do. Decided to give Snort a go. Which is how I now have a public key from Snort.
Then, I got reminded about how we can crosspost our stuff to Nostr. I might as well milk the sats-making potential out from my posts, right? Except that I can’t do it. I need a signer extension like Alby or nos2x for cross posting purposes.
I’m pretty sure I have an Alby account. Need to really leverage it from now on.
Anyway, what are your Nostr habits? Do you use different clients for different purposes? Or post primarily on one client?
I'm a heavy user of Nostr mainly on Android through Amethyst and some web clients, such as noStrudel and Primal.
I think the experience is quite different depending on who are your follows/followers. For me it's mostly shitposting, trolling and scrolling to have fun. If I want a serious read/conversation, I prefer SN of course.

I mostly just use Nostr on mobile so I use Amethyst ans sometimes Primal because it uses less data, but I can't zap on Primal because they only allow through their own wallet. I don't use web clients, I don't think they are that great. Right now some web clients only allow login with extension wich is bad imo, one web client that does things right is Coracle. I'm working on an extension that will also do the sign in but it's not the main purpose.

Thanks for sharing. Looks like I need to download Amethyst haha

I referer to tell you that I am still new to find out what habits should I form. But honestly, nostr is far ahead of habit formation.

I’m sure posting on SN is more fun haha

I have been testing between Primal and Amethyst. I like Primal wallet integration but it still has the problem of posting to the void. I like Amethyst extra batteries included as streams or communities, but not so great to be honest.

Sounds like both clients yield you different types of joys and frictions haha

I'm trying to like nostr but it is not there yet. I am more surprised of the progress of Farcaster.

I've been experimenting with Nostr again so will watch this thread carefully.

Have you picked up anything that will help you move on to the next level😁?

I like to try different clients to see which one I like best. Damus was my first and I’ve always gone back to it (TestFlight version allows zaps) but I’m currently on primal. I wanted to try primal because of its integrated wallet. I wasn’t thrilled that I needed an email address for their wallet, but other than that I like the client.

What do you enjoy about Primal, if I may ask?
reply
I’m enjoying the user interface so far and I like the built I wallet, just wasn’t excited about needing an email address for it

I've used Gossip for a couple of years now. It gives lots of control and I can add proof of work to each post. I usually go with about 9

First time I heard of Gossip. Thanks for sharing
