Here's a search issue (user interface) that confused me:
When you click on the magnifying glass to search, it looks like the default search is only in whatever the topic is, of the post you're on.
Say the post you're looking at is in the topic "books and articles". When you click on the magnifying glass, you get the search window, where you can type in your search string. You click search, and and it shows you results - but ONLY from the topic "books and articles".
I didn't expect this, and it confused me for quite some time. I knew that there was a certain post out there, with a certain specific word, but it just wasn't coming up. And the problem was the topic area of the post I had clicked on the magnifying glass from.
My assumption was that all topic areas would be searched.
What's particularly confusing about this is that all the filter options (all/posts/comments, order by, date filtering) are BELOW the search string window.
Except for the topic area, which is ABOVE it.
I wonder if it might be possible to have the topic drop down (meta, bitcoin, health, etc.) to be with the other search criteria filters, on the search screen?
Thank you!
