Added a new Github issue today for what I think could be a fun new feature called Highlighter.
The TL;DR is that if you highlight a snippet of text on a post or comment, and then zap that item, your highlighted snippet is highlighted for all stackers to see.
Full details on Github.
Very creative idea! I like it. One question-if the downzap idea is implemented, how would that effect zaprank of the post itself?

If the downzap highlighting part is implemented, the downzapping will have the same effect on an item’s zaprank as it does today.
the only difference would be that you’d see a red section of text which would highlight the part people disagreed with.

I like this idea a lot. I think it will add a lot of value to the site.

Would love to see this! Very similar idea to what @pablof7z is exploring with highlighter.com. More details here.
Perhaps this could build off of the same NIP?

Oh your title immediately caught my attention. Fun!
Also fun fact: Highlighting important words in yellow not only emphasises them, but also anchors them on a page. Some students experience visual crowding as they cannot make out the individual shapes of letters due to an excess of white. Yellow adds texture to the words and aids recognition.

yup, exactly! the zaps and downzaps behave exactly the same, the only difference is that text gets highlighted in the process.
