Curious at what level the fee to post would stop stackers from posting.

By the results it seems there's room for 5k and 10k options.

reply

Yes. I should have had some higher options.

reply

1 Million, 10 Million and 100 Million sats should have been an option

reply

100,000

I admire your spirit, sir!

it’s a tough question because as post costs go up, so does the daily rewards pool… which might counteract the effect of making people less likely to post.

it’s something SN has experimented with, and will experiment more with over time. learning from the results of territory owners is actually a form of mass-experimentation.

reply

Why not make the price per post a minimum instead of fixed?

reply

It might just be a UX thing: I think it would be a little annoying to type in how much I wanted to post instead of just tapping a button.

edit: default value = minimum cost

reply

Do you see this replacing boosts?

reply

Mini boost ! Yeee ... It could be a boost or just someone willing to pay more than the minimum.

reply

Yes. It has been interesting to see where different territory operators put there posting fees. But it's a little messy because they are topical and that means a second variable.

reply

For territories 1k makes the most sense rn tbh maybe goes higher or lower over time.

How I am thinking through it, is the possible engagement and conversation you are hoping to get by posting in a particular territory.

Kind of what @k00b did in the early days, target for a specific niche ~bitcoin, for us at ~builders I am hoping to create that type of culture there, niching down.

Will see testing for at least this month.

Also were accepting monthly sponsorships via pin def reach out if interested. Willing to start that at 25K.

reply

Anything under 1000 is a no brainer for me. Since I don't make posts that often, they're usually something I have spent more than 5 seconds crafting.

reply

Exactly. If the territories weren't already struggling for traffic, I'd say raise the posting price to 1000 and see what happens.

On the other hand, I wonder how SN would change if the SN territories cost 1000 to post and all the territories were cheaper.

reply

People boost 5K sats on fountain.

reply

Depends how many sats I have and how strong I want to post. In my case the most expensive post was 100 sats, the most expensive zap 1000 sats so far

Maybe in the future even 1 sat will be too much...

reply

I can't afford posting fees that go higher than 100 sats. So, I voted for the last option.

reply
reply

Because I'm a beginner in the Bitcoin journey and my Bitcoin budget is limited right now! Hope this will change in the future.

reply

but you said you voted for the last option, which is 1000 sats

reply

Because the question was:

Curious at what level the fee to post would stop stackers from posting.

And I voted the 1000 will stop me posting.

reply

Oh got it

reply

The cost to post is what people are willing to pay, and tbh it's not high enough.

reply

I've wondered the same and that was part of my thinking in asking people. I think I would probably post about the same amount if it was 100.

reply

What the market will bear. Its different for many of us. 100 sounds like a top for me buy I'm a single data point.

reply

For me it's much more than 50k sats

reply
One million Sats
reply

Even my low effort posts always bring in more than 100 sats. The 420 sats at ~mostly_harmless makes me think twice, but doesn't necessarily stop me.

reply

Yeah, I should have added a 500 sat option.

reply

I still would have selected 1000.

reply

128 SATS

I didn't realize ~meta cost 100 sats until I made this poll. Gave me pause for about five seconds.
