oh yeah! you'd dead right, that's a bug. it looks like this bug affects a small amount of memes that we created very early in the development of zap.meme. the data for those memes in the database is a malformed and so some early zaps that we sent while testing were not recorded properly. thankfully we should have all the data we need to fix the issue for those historic zaps.
I'll put in some work this afternoon to fix the historic zaps and put the issue right. thanks for letting us know!
so yeah! zaps are working as expected, it's just some early historic ones that are malformed. we just sent you 5 zaps, let us know if you see them :)
btw, you'll see the zaps come in as 8 sats, not 10:
- 1% (min 1 sat) fee goes to zap.meme - we're thinking about what to do with the fees, we're planning something like the SN reward pool!
- 10% (min 1 sat) goes to the emoji creator - the vast majority of the emoji on the app were created in another project i shut down 3 years ago. so we can't send the owners sats for those, what we do instead is send the sats to the reward pool if we don't know the emoji creator, but if it's a new emoji and we know the creator, yeah then they get 10%!
I received 40 sats, nice... I Zap my meme and it deducted from my balance, is that supposed to happen?

I did it just to try it out, but it makes sense that it works this way. I even think it shouldn't be possible to do it. Thanks.

yeah good point. I'll probably just disabled it to keep things simple.
p.s. we fixed the bug you found. the few historic zaps that weren't showing up are now allocated to their correct owners.
you should see a new item in your activity history for the missing zap. the amount you earned for that zap will be 9 sats instead of 8 sats because it's an old zap, and old zaps had a slightly different fee structure.

nice. Do the SN Meme Monday memes automatically get sent to zap.meme?
