their "AT protocol" specifies that its all about censorship. its literally the woke crowd who ran away from twitter now setting up another safe space.

Letting users moderate internet forums isn't a new thing and it isn't "censorship". If you want a shitty, anything-goes chatroom, go to 4chan.

Moderation doesn't however require identity exposure, which is what they're doing by requiring a phone number.

I don't see the appeal.

Nostr is the way. Even if Nostr is not a possibility for some reason, the activity pub network (also known as the fediverse) is a better ecosystem.

Bluesky added a million new users in the last day since removing the requirement for invites.

Nostr is the way. There's no second best!

How is this different than the rest of the bunch, still requires an email and phone number. I thought we went through this already... The first wave is a curiosity factor nothing else, I will stick with nostr until something else comes around that is worth my time.

Well here we go, everyone is trying to reinvent the wheel, Twitter has already been invented. 😅 I look at all this buzz around Bluesky and I think some things are unique in their own right. Bitcoin isn't just another cryptocurrency, it's a revolution in the financial world. It's the same with Twitter - not just a social network, but a former platform for free speech. Trying to create a "new bitcoin" or "new Twitter" without understanding their uniqueness is like trying to reinvent the wheel twice. Let's better focus on improving what we already have instead of chasing an unattainable "ideal". 🚀

Same nostr, at least.

I haven't heard a single good thing about Bluesky.
