How do I say "₿ 10 000" out loud?
Is it "ten thousand bitcoin" or "ten thousand sats"?
ten thousand sats! just like we say "10 dollars" and display/type/write "$10".

ten thousand sats! just like
Oh so this symbol no longer reads as "bitcoin"? I see.
we say "10 dollars" and display/type/write "$10"
This is the one shortfall imo. 10 dollars = $10 but 1 Bitcoin = ₿ 100m?
For this to go all the way we'll need to start calling sats->bitcoin imo.

people will organically start calling sats "bitcoin" if it ever gets adopted, but for now, people will send 10000 sats from WoS and receive ₿10000 on Bitkit. can't get much simpler than that!

you're onto something! 🤠 there are only integers in the Bitcoin protocol, not decimals. we don't need decimals other than for tracking the Bitcoin price...

That will probably be the natural outcome imo. At first people will call it 'sats', but once normies adopt Bitcoin, the term used will gravitate to 'bitcoin' or 'bitcoins'.

In hindsight I think this was always going to be the case, people don't like remembering multiple names for the same thing.

exactly!

First, "ten thousand sats", at least until people are ready to do the sensible thing and just call them bitcoin too. It's not like "sats" actually has any useful purpose.
