I have a lot of time for mars. He's a talented guy.

reply

Yea, I recently watch a video of him, his dad and mom performing as Elvis Presley when he was 4 years old

That's really cool. Born into music and encouraged from a young age. Really great to see. I hope that the next generation of musicians grow up in an environment like that.

reply

The earlier video was bad. Yes I hope Musicians grow up like this

This track has such a bright tone to it. A little bit of summer feeling in February.

Yes I love Carlos Santana, the guy never misses.

reply

This takes me in two directions, both a bit more chill. The classic one

And another from some piece or echo of the melody.

That Bonnie Raitt track has that classic 80s pop sound. Reminds me of Stevie Nix. I can hear "thunder only happens when it's raining" from Fleetwood Macs Dreams in this track really easily.

Samba Pa Ti is great, he really doesn't miss, incredible guitarist. Sometimes lyrics aren't necessary and the music does all the singing.

reply

Woohoo, love that! One to add to my playlist and take a look at Diego Torres work.

reply

Yeah he's got a really bright tone in his voice. Like singing whilst smiling, it just sounds happy.

A classic song as a soundtrack for an epic movie. Julie Roberts made me love every scene in this masterpiece

I'm starting to feel like I need to reach out to @brandonsbytes about a Collab post of music and movies, loads of submissions recently have had movie backgrounds.

Pretty woman was an absolute masterpiece, I also thought Julia Roberts was great in it. And that track is iconic!

reply

Please do, we need that!

Personally I feel the more cross territory collaboration the better. Get people from different areas of SN engaging with each other.

I dunno, I haven't had a fully formed thought yet. Maybe something like a discussion post on songs in movies? Could even branch out into musical movies. Or maybe movie scores? Things like LOTR and stuff like that. Discussions around people's favourites.

Could run a bounty competition? Most voted/zapped movie/song combination takes the win? Lots of possibilities. But I hadn't really formed a proper idea just yet. What do you think we could do?

reply

Great ideas 🎵📽️🎞️🎶 Do a run up, so everyone knows about it and talk about it in Stackers Saloon 🤠👖👢

reply

So many cross territory collaboration ideas on the go. I'm engaging with GR and stacker sports about a superbowl specific Collab. I'll be chatting with Brandonbytes about movies/music Collab. Growth is happening... Real question is can I keep up? 🤔

This is song is all about letting go and not getting too attached when you are not needed

Really nice. Great message and brilliant delivery.

Some good beautiful tracks already here. Keep 'em coming guys.

Sorry but mine are rather heavy today and I'm not talking about metal! 😆

I'm not sure at what point I realised this Billy Joel song is basically a humongous list of 🐇🕳️ to jump down.

This one follows on for the Roger Waters track yesterday - obviously one of his much more well know works of art.

Have to put these two versions down

Ooooooo Pink Floyd. Strong submissions. Always loved Korns cover of this aswell, Jonathan Davis just has vocals that add some real grit to the song.

Billy Joel's we didn't start the fire is an absolute anthem. Have you heard the updated version done by fall out boy? Billy Joel advised and helped write it with them. That's really good aswell. https://youtu.be/2LkVKCWL0U4?si=pchZUG38szUERQZq

reply

WOW!!! 😲 Thanks for sharing this! No, I didn't realise an updated list of psyops had been made for us 😜

The two common lines standing out for me in both of these songs are:

"JFK blown away, what else do I have to say?"

"World Trade, second plane, what else do I have to say?"

What else does he have to say to wake people up?

reply

Yeah it's a wicked good update or freshening up of an already iconic track. I'm glad they engaged Joel in the writing process as I'm sure they'd have gotten a lot of backlash had this not been done in collaboration with Joel.

But really what else is there to say?

I wonder if the next update contains the Nancy Pelosi stock tracker 😂😂

reply

could maybe have a whole other song from 2023 to 2024 and we're barely into February!

reply

Coming in hot today 02, 3 absolute 🔥 tracks.

reply

Thank you, just love the meat grinder analogy in Brick in the wall. Both versions with accompanying videos hit home.

reply

Yep. So many artists across multiple decades writing about the same thing. All loud and clear warnings... But here we are 😂

reply

There's a post in the Movies territory about Gina Carano suing Disney for wrongful termination. In the Hollywood Reporter article it tells of the things Disney did to try and make her tow the line. But she refused and stood by her comments.
So this song sprung to mind of another artist who was also shushed and told to be quiet and get back in line. But they didn't.
A big 🖕 to the industry

I respect her for sticking to her values. And I have mad respect for the chicks for sticking to their guns in an era still adjusting to the idea of womens equality. Great song.

That power scream at the end 🤌🤌 wicked vocals. I can hear a lot of RHCP style sound in his guitar playing. Though Buckley predates them, I associate them with that sound. Great song.
