sidenote, I find that A LOT of children's books revolve around climate change fear. This is just making kids neurotic about the environment, which maybe is the goal.
Totally, that's why we have to be choosy about our children's books. Some people have this attitude that if it's not online and it's a hard copy paper book it's fine because any books are good for kids to get into. But they can still be heavy propaganda, just like anything else.
And, yes, they are scaring the shit out of the poor kids. They are also trying to get at the parents through the kids. Propagandizing the kids into thinking that the parents are bigoted, lots of labels with "ist" on the end but mainly that their parents are stupid and need to be educated.
