Hello Stackers!

Happy February all!

This month's weekly theme is "Femmes Fatales". So hit me with those Ladies with Lungs, Our Maidens of Music, our Sirens of Sound, our Babes That Belt, our Princesses of Pitch. So let's hear those Angels of the Arias! The Valkyries of the Voice!

(I'm running out of these, so throw any others in the comments aswell 😜)

Let's Talk Music. Share Tracks. Zap Sats.

This week's submission from me is Floor Jansen of Nightwish, performing Ghost Love Score live at Wacken open air festival.

Let's go!

She gives me Carrie Underwood vibes. I've not heard of Lissie before but she's really good fun and has a great voice.

Rachel Platten - Stand By You
Tough decision between this and Fight Song

There's a sound in her voice that kinda reminds me a little of Ellie Goulding. It's similar but not the same. Really nice.

Totally missed this post! I'm submitting this beautiful song "Loving Arms" written by Tom Jans, first recorded as a duet by Kris Kristofferson and Rita Coolidge, covered by many people including Elvis Presley.

The two versions I will post today covered two fabulous female singers

Here is Jacqui Abbott, supported by Paul Heaton and the comforting, dulcet tones of the brass band.

And here Natalie Maines, supported by her band mates the Dixie Chicks

Two very different versions, both IMHO very powerful in their own right. I can't really compare, I love both.

I love the southern heartbreak country rock that the Dixie chicks bring to this track but the first one. Oooooffff Jacqui Abbot what a beautiful voice. Just gorgeous.

Keep your eyes open every Monday throughout February were hitting the "Femmes Fatales".

Ooooooofffff this song is a belter. You can't listen to this softly, the speakers gotta go all the way up to 11 for this.

I feel like you're going to enjoy the next month's worth of Mondays 😜

Yeah! I should have said turn the volume up on this one too but needed to go to bed 😆 I just couldn't resist posting this.
I have plenty more to post where that came from 😄

Been a little while since I've heard lacuna coil and Christina scabia. I think the last track I heard of there's was "our truth" which was what 2004?? Or something? I seem to have some catching up to do. What an awesome vocalist.

She always sounds great live too

I think I saw them supporting arch enemy but I can't remember which tour it was, musta been sometime in the 2010s and she sounded just like recording which is really a testament to her talent.

reply

Go on, just this one more and then I go to bed! 😆 Turn up the volume!

Ok, maybe she gives me Carrie Underwood vibes more than Lissie. She is killing it here, great song, awesome vocals.
