I'm going to transition my fountain clip series into posts rather than saloon updates.
There's been a bunch of speculation about the Lakers trading LeBron. They discussed it on Locked on Heat recently: https://fountain.fm/clip/gNHRoF3d0X76iGGMcynW. They have an interesting perspective as both people who covered LeBron 10 years ago and cover one of the most likely trade destinations for him.
Initially, I dismissed these trade rumors, but with LeBron you never know. I still think it's probably just him firing warning shots across Rob Pelinka's bow and the point is to communicate that he's not satisfied with the roster.
I'm not sure LA would want to trade him, and agree that his camp is probably trying to force LA to make a move. Anyone else get a feeling that he won't finish his career in LA, though?

More and more. It would be insane if he got traded midseason with almost no warning.
reply
Didn't he say he wants to finish his career wherever his son gets drafted?
reply
Not quite. I think he said that he wants to play with his son before he retires, but that leaves open that he might continue ring chasing afterwards.
reply
Do you think Bronny enters the draft this year or next year?
reply
May as well be this year, since it's about his dad anyway. I don't think a team would draft him otherwise, with his scary heart issues.
reply
Coming back to Cleveland to finish his career?
reply
That's something I wondered about. Something built around Mitchell for Lebron would be pretty good for both teams.
reply
an uber drive told me his theory: lebron would go play for the warriors at a lower salary and the warriors would draft his son.
reply
So that's free agency after the season? I don't think they can sign him for more than a vet minimum in that case. I also don't think they have anything the Lakers would want in a trade. Wiggins and Kuminga for Lebron?
reply
Might as well trade him they already won the in-season tournament and that is the only thing they are winning this year. Besides it will give us something to talk about.
reply
It would be an amazing coup for the Heat. He's exactly what they're missing right now. Can you imagine facing Jimmy, Bam, and Lebron in the playoffs?
reply
That would definitely make the Heat championship contenders.
reply
The thinking is that it would be Herro and Robinson and a 1st for Lebron. I suspect they'd also have to throw Jovic in. That would make the playoff rotation something like:
Starters
Bam Lebron Jimmy Jaime Rozier
Bench
Love Martin Richardson

It's an impressive big 3 and starting lineup but do you think they would have enough depth? I like Herro but he is always in trade talks. Maybe he isn't as good as I think. I am just basing it off the fact that he always torches the Raptors.
reply
Spo's only going 7 deep in the playoffs and both Martin and Love are proven playoff guys. Martin was almost the ECF MVP last year and he'd be the 7th man on this team or maybe the 6th man, but Love has been great this season.
