Pretty much, yes. When I find out, I usually try to look for an alternative that let you use LN, a BTC or LTC address, or Wallet Connect (haven't looked at Nostr Connect yet) to log in instead. Only if I don't find any and I really, really, really need/want to use that app, I then consider giving up my email address.
100% an inconvenient now we have LN logging
