Shrub of the tomato family, originally from Mexico, widely cultivated in the Andean countries, New Zealand, Australia and California. Reaches 3 to 4 meters in height, quite productive. Red fruits with a unique flavor, acidic sweet, rich in vitamin A and antioxidants. Not very tolerant to frost, but withstands winters in more protected microclimates for several years. Seeds take about 30 days to germinate and begin producing at 18 months.
