I don't take a hard stance on it, but, it's an interesting question. People seem to take the assumption that the mother's life is more important than the child's. Maybe the child is seen as less human or something, or less 'conscious' and therefore less valuable.

I guess for Luke Dash Jr in the particular question, you hold true to the rule of not killing at the cost of both the child's and the mother's life. I suppose if you believe in God strongly and believe in afterlife and that God is in charge of everything, then it is a conclusion that you defer to God's will (miracle, or death for both).
