I remember the story about a guy who just wanted to build some apartments on top of his laundromats. The city council just would not let him, and activists worked 24-7 in conjuction with city council to make it not happen and they made up all excuse they could. They were concerned that it would cast shade on a kindergarden playground, but after taking a closer look there would only be shade in the afternoon when children werent going to be there. I mean things can get silly when people have the power to decide what others can or cannot do i guess.
