I appreciate the research. It's very interesting.
I think it's a shame that link posts became the type most used by spammers, and thus most ignored by the community, because it is a valuable tool for sharing interesting news items or articles. I've started doing more of them recently, but with a decent amount of added context.

yup, links definitely serve a purpose but augmenting them with added context is a superpower for engagement

I think adding context is a good practice for link posts, but stackers (including myself) have gotten into the habit of scrolling right past links.
