I have nothing to compare it with, but I have a 5 or 6 year old kindle paperwhite that has served me well.
Thank you.

I have two Kindles. I like the Paperwhite and the other, older one is not so bad.
They suck for PDFs so I have some old tablets, as Kindle Fire and an old 10 inch Lenovo. The Lenovo barely does anything but it can run Synchthing and I can dump PDF, text or ePubs in a folder on my laptop for it to use. The Kindle fire, an 8 inch is ok for reading almost anything. I also use Synchthing with this. I've put the Google Play stuff on it. The anti-blue light setting works on eye strain.
I can honestly say that I've read a lot of books with my Kindle Paperwhite the most. I like ePub and eBooks that use flow able text. Photos are difficult to enjoy but not impossible. I'd like to see a really good PDF reader but I can use my laptop for this as it is a Lenovo Yoga but I run Linux so I don't really use it for anything other than real computer work.
Ebooks are nice. They really are. I've read some books and forgotten that I was reading on an e reader. I would try to flip the page sometimes as if I was reading a paper book.
I still like real books too.
I think the ebooks are still not fully utilized and the e-reader can do more. The closed collection by Amazon and DRM is no good but at least the Kindle accepts open forms of documents for reading. One day all the Kindle books I've bought will vaporize. So it goes.
That's my two Satoshis. I'd like to know also what others are using.

Thank you for your detailed review. Amazon doesn't send Kindle devices to my country, even though Amazon have a sales channel in Turkey (amazon.com.tr)
But there are sellers on the net in Turkey. I can look after them.
