The economic landscape in the Eurozone showed a ''surprising'' standstill during the fourth quarter of 2023. Contrary to predictions by economists surveyed by Dow Jones Newswires, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) remained stagnant from October to December compared to the preceding quarter. Initial estimates from Eurostat indicate a departure from the anticipated 0.1 percent decline, as the economy had previously contracted by 0.1 percent in the third quarter.
