I've pitched this idea too. I'd also like people to be able to customize what it costs to reply to their notes.

I think there is a way to post notes in nostr that you have to pay to read. Maybe I saw this somewhere else.
I think here on Stacker it works emotionally for me because I and everyone have to pay to post, like and respond. Also I don't see a shitty more rewards now and later cut down because....
The examples are Fold, Lolli, Fountain and Bitcoin Magazine paying 1000 of sats to get you hooked and then tapering down due to fiat inflation increasing expenses and while Bitcoin increases buying power but not that much.
Here seeing real price discovery. Once the power company, the network provider and expenses are covered it should profitable because it's its own complete product. We are being farmed, too and we like it.

Maybe that should be in consideration for the SN motto/slogan. At the very least, it's a good testimonial.

That sounds vaguely familiar. It's not what I would be interested in. though. I want people to be able to read my notes, but I would like to put a minimal cost to reply. I was mostly thinking of it as a way to lure bigger fish onto nostr, because it would be a powerful monetization tool that also cuts down on spammy comments.

I see. Maybe you can do the serious writing here and share your post in nostr. Advantage is that you post a link and nostr client pulls the article showing a visual. You provide a small intro and then you state that the discussion will be at/in/on Stacked News!
Anyone can read so there is no pay wall, but to comment they have to send sats. They can even zap your work without an account. Leverage Stacker in this case.
Eventually an nip might came about that eliminates this and perhaps the Stacker team builds this in because you bring the business!
I like where you are heading here.

That's a good idea. I'll start mulling it over.

So I've done what I think might work for you now.
Here is a NOSTR post from our thread here....

Some post from a different client. Presentation is important, too.

So far only spam lol
That's like proving this point from me here:
Posting on nostr has no fees, so there might be less quality content there

You know what is funny about that? All of my NOSTR clients block this crap! Only one actually gives my notice and I've since shut out notifications. I've even blocked this NOSTR handle, yet it still can see me and if it is not blocked by others will continue it's campaigns.
So, yes, it's spam, annoying, and even if I block it, some relay will still route it.
Maybe I need to see what relays it is using and remove them.
Shitcoiner, scammer, reported and free to continue as long as it's not blocked by others. Welcome to freedom.
