What a great football Sunday!
I hate the Chiefs and would gladly sacrifice my winnings to see them humiliated. From a gambling perspective, though, what could be better than getting to take Patrick Mahomes as a playoff underdog?
I'll tell you what's better than that, getting the 49ers as only slight favorites over the Lions.
The conference championships hit big enough that I'm playing with house money for the Super Bowl. By the way, betting is open for the Super Bowl at freebitcoin. RBOA suggests putting pretty nearly even money on both teams (52% 49ers vs 48% Chiefs).
They also put up a ton of soccer matches this morning and a couple of cricket matches (but I still haven't figured out how to find external odds for that).
I'm excited to hear @greyruby celebrating the 49ers win. I assume he bought a boat or something with the winnings.
I keep checking freebitcoin daily to see the current odds for the Superbowl. Seen some fluctuation but been hoping the Chiefs catch a bid and I get better odds on 49ers. No luck so far.

I overheard some Chiefs fans gloating that they're going to win a playoff game in Allegiant Stadium before the Raiders do. Ouch
reply
49ers need to make sure that doesn’t happen.

We'll owe our Bay Area cousins a great debt. The first playoff loss in Allegiant will forever belong to the Chiefs. Let's go!

Forgot to ask you what you thought of the Raiders hiring Kliff Kingsbury as their OC?
I see you responded to my nostr DM as well.

I only just saw that they hired Kingsbury. From what I've heard, his offense is ideal for a very different type of QB than we have. O'Connell is very bright and reads defenses well, but Kingsbury seems to like simple read offenses and athletic QB's. We're all eagerly waiting to see what the new GM has planned at QB.

I was just reading this article which has some interesting topics. I've been skeptical that the new TV deal will be as big as the NBA is counting on and this is the first big sports article that raises that possibility.

I think he will be a good OC. Wasn't a great head coach. Let's be honest, he got the AZ job because he coached Patrick Mahomes in college.
I do think it might be an indication the Raiders will look for a different style of QB. I think O'Connell is suited to running a 49ers style offense. Read defenses, make good decisions get the ball to the playmakers. I think these types of QBs don't get enough credit these days. Not every guy can be Mahomes or Lamar Jackson.

I'm so worried about the Fields and Russell rumors. If they trade up for one of the top draft prospect, fine, but I want the carousel of retread quarterbacks to end.
If the 49ers win it will be doubly satisfying that I also got to witness the Chiefs lose a superbowl. I unfortunately re-watched the 2020 superbowl (was on NFL network late night a few days ago). Dammit Jimmy G.

I see you spelt my username the Canadian way. k00b made a passing comment about my username once but other than that, no one has asked me why I spell it the American way.
Fun fact, gray and ruby are my kids middle names. My wife being American and all doesn't know how to spell properly so she spelled my son's middle name gray with an a but I have grown to like it spelt that way. When my daughter was born, I said hey why don't we keep the middle name colour theme going so we went with ruby. And then when we got our dog we let my son name her and for some reason he named a black and white dog Violet because he liked the name to keep the colour streak going. We also had a guinea pig named Copper at one point but she is no longer with us. Family is the best!
As for the bets this week. I might be able to buy a small toy boat from the dollar store. I was up about 6000 sats. I gained around 8000 on the 49ers bet and lost 2000 on the Ravens. I am tempted to just bet it all the sats I have on FreeBitcoin on the SuperBowl but I might like to have some for next season since they don't haven't enabled lightning. I think I will put 5k on the 49ers and see where the lines go over the next couple weeks.

I love it

I love these kind of little quirky, family inside stories. How someone got a weird nickname and things like that.

We have a middle name theme, where they all start with the same letter. It didn't apply to the dog though. We'll have to keep that in mind whenever we get our next one.

I recently found out that Vladimir Guerrero Jr has a half brother named Vladi Guerrero.
I am guessing Vlad Sr wanted to get a George Foreman thing going but just didn't have enough kids.
