UPDATE: I am an idiot, so if you don't want to spend time reading about that, skip this post. I'm going to post it anyway because writing it took like fifteen minutes of screwing around, and maybe there are other idiots out there that this could save fifteen minutes.

Note: I'd normally put this in the saloon, but people tend to like search-related discussion so figured I'd make an actual post of it.

I'm getting ready to do another experiment and I've been trying to unearth some old posts and comments that I made. I remember saying a particular thing about "belief" so I tried to search for that:
Not there. But I'm positive I've talked about belief way more than that! And sure enough, in this book club post, and a bunch of times in this one, also this one, etc.
I can't figure out why the search results are returning what they're returning ...
and I just figured it out. Jesus, I initiated the search in the ~meta sub, so it was filtering on that. Damn it. Which makes sense in retrospect.
Don't do drugs, kids.
I opened a github issue about this previously, but I also came to the same conclusion, that I’m an idiot lol

Were you all hopped up on fish oil when you wrote that?

This happens to me all the time. I don't learn from my mistakes.

This is a UX bug at this point.

Yah, once you enter a territory, you stay there. Happened to me too i was watching the recent tab only to show only old posts from an nearly dead territory...

When I read this, I already knew what this is going to be about lol
We definitely need to make this more clear. It also happened to me several times already.
