what do you mean with KYC? I did not give them my name or address. 

I see that a lot of people use protonmail but I dont understand how people are okay with the KYC that Proton Mail requires. For a service that touts privacy, this seems rather odd. Am I missing something here?

I think thunderbird is fine. Mozilla may not be perfect but they are more or less good guys.

I personally like to use Email on the browser. E.g. proton mail.
