I had a similar question in my 30s: how do I know when I have become good enough at something?
My Japanese teacher inadvertently answered this question one day when she was teaching. She said you are a pro when someone pays you for your work. I never forget this line.
I consider myself a paid writer because I’m getting sats for my work haha.
I may not be the greatest writer out there, but here, an abundance mindset applies. I believe the pie is big enough for writers of all expertise levels. I may not be as proficient as others, but I am good enough. I may not clinch billion-dollar writing contracts, but I can buy Bitrefill gift cards. Just because I play in the small leagues doesn’t diminish my value as a writer haha
