Meeting app will be available for Android Auto in the coming weeks and can use the car's internal camera
Wi-Fi on planes, WhatsApp in cars, everything helps keep you working in situations that were havens of tranquility – or almost so. But stay calm, as everything could get worse. Instead of listening to good quality sound, Microsoft has another proposal: putting Teams on Android Auto. The application will be launched on the market at the end of this month.
The meeting app is typically used by more than 250 million people in a single month, which makes it quite a tool in times of remote work. It is possible to send files, exchange ideas and hold video meetings, by far the most used function. However, despite the importance of the app, it doesn't mean that it's something you want to have on your car's Android Auto.
Hours spent in the car are considered dead for many companies, as the professional is out of reach for all that time. It may be time to complain about traffic, listen to a podcast or a beloved band, but it will become work, an evolution that can extend the day, making time distinctions a little more complicated.
At least the video meeting function will not be part of the package, as this would be a serious threat to road safety. However, this only applies when the car is moving, models that have an internal camera (they are rare, but everything can change) are already prepared for this eventuality. Yes, you will give your boss a ride whether you want it or not.
