no. i doubt it. public pool is just a way for you to run your own stratum server and run your own pool instead of submitting hash back to one of the bigger pools like braiins. if you don't really have much hash because you're maybe running an S9 or something smaller like a nerdminer, it doesn't make sense to mine as part of a large pool because it would take an obscene amount of time to build up enough to actually get a payout. so solo mining is actually a fun idea. running your own instance of public pool at your home and pointing your small machines at it is a way to do this.
