I noticed that too, so I manually adjust it according to the mempool.
Is it to give more guarantees that it will be included in the next block?

I guess so, but it's the fee is too much extra sometimes - I try to avoid doing any urgent transfers and always prepare things in advance when it's a slightly low fee.
