That is a great question. At least the last 2 places I picked from the map for a "visit" still accepted bitcoin, which was great.
i had the opposite experience.. But i recon i never went back to the map to mark those as wrong
but one of the problems with BTC map is that many "BTC merchants" there are exchanges, and even asking ID to exchanges. 😂
